The best space for a home office is always where you have the room to set up a proper workstation. It includes a table with the right height and size for your needs, a work chair, sufficient distance between computer and chair, etc.
If possible, always choose a room or area with privacy and quiet.
Most home spaces are not designed to be a workstation. The sofa, armchair, dining table, bed, etc. Comfortable places to stay for a few hours, but rarely ergonomically supportive for 7-8 hours of sedentary work.
Having a study or your own office is nice, but far from necessary. It can easily be a corner of the living room where you find space to set up. While it might mess up your interior design a little bit, if you are setting up your home office in your living room, it beats back pain ten times out of ten.
